Drilling Worker (Oil Rig / Gas Rig Worker)

Also known colloquially as a roughneck, a drilling worker is a skilled labourer on an oil or gas rig, a place where oil or gas is extracted, stored and processed. Rigs are usually offshore, but not always. There are a variety of job positions on an oil rig, such as derrickhand/derrick-man (responsible for drilling mud) and roustabout/leasehand (painting and cleaning) Have a look at these videos showcasing the life of a drilling worker!
